How School Room Dividers Help Reduce Classroom Distractions
Posted by Julie Wenckowski on Feb 11th 2013
When two teachers share one classroom, movement, noise, and competing lessons can make it difficult for students to focus. Otsego Elementary faced this challenge when two intervention groups had only low bookshelves separating their learning areas.
A 6-foot-high by 24-foot-1-inch Screenflex portable room divider gave each teacher a more defined space for math and reading instruction—without permanent construction.
More Focus and Display Space
When extended, the divider reduces visual distractions and helps absorb sound between the two groups. Its tackable panels also provide valuable display space for phonics materials, letters, student artwork, and other classroom resources.
When teachers need the full classroom again, the divider folds compactly and can be rolled into a corner for storage.
What the Teachers Had to Say
It helps with the distractions of seeing the other students coming and going. It doesn’t totally stop the sound, but it sure helps. I also love the space to put up my phonics wall and letters
Screenflex school room dividers make it easier to support small-group instruction, intervention services, testing, and changing classroom needs.
