How Room Dividers Reduced Distractions During a School Musical

With 62 students, detailed costumes, oversized props, and multiple scene changes, a local school’s dress rehearsal of Flat Stanley had plenty of moving parts. Two Screenflex room dividers helped the cast and crew keep the production organized, both onstage and behind the scenes.

Separating Busy Backstage Areas

A 6-foot-high by 20-foot-5-inch divider separated the staging and costuming areas, giving each group a dedicated place to prepare. The divider provided a visual barrier, while its fabric-covered panels helped absorb sound and reduce distractions between the two spaces.
Because Screenflex dividers can be arranged in different shapes and lengths, the production team could configure the divider around the available backstage space.

Setting the Stage

A smaller three-panel divider served as part of the set, helping transform the stage into a doctor’s office for one memorable scene. The tackable panels made it easy to attach an eye chart and other decorations, while the portable design allowed the divider to roll on and offstage between scenes. After the rehearsal, both dividers folded compactly for convenient movement and storage.
From organizing backstage activity to completing the set, Screenflex room dividers gave the production team a flexible solution for keeping the show running smoothly. Explore Screenflex room dividers or request a quote for your school or performance space.
