Room Dividers Steel vs Aluminum What's the Difference Anyway?

Steel or aluminum

Spring is coming, and it’s time to buy a new bike. I’m looking at buying a bike with either a steel or aluminum frame, but I think I’m leaning towards getting the steel frame vs. the aluminum frame. All input welcome. I’d like a bike that is strong and easy to ride. I’m looking for longevity because I’m not planning on buying another bike for a long time, if even at all. It would be nice if I could pass it down to my daughter, but I don’t know if they last that long. My goal is to ride the trails and work my way up to 25-40 miles on a weekend day trip.

I heard that steel was heavier than aluminum but stronger too. I did a bit of research and what I found is that in order for the aluminum framed bike to be as strong and sturdy as the steel framed bike, there really is no weight advantage. So what I’m gathering, is for the same thickness, the bike would be lighter, but not very strong. I was also told that aluminum dents so if you take a spill that could be the end of my bike.

I would really like a smooth ride. Riding for a few hours would be more enjoyable with the smoothest ride possible. From what I’ve heard from hard-core touring bikers, the steel bike will give me a smoother ride. Any suggestions?

What would you choose? Steel vs Aluminum

After thinking more about the benefits of steel I supposed this is why we chose a steel frame over aluminum for our room dividers.
